Smile Need High quality of SVG file

    Dear Experters,
Here's the first time to see this forum.I see experters who shows many experiences at here.
I have some questions and need your help.
I need SVG file to use with my CNC plasma table. I try testing free download from commercial url removed and see SVG files with high quality.--> It's OK for CNC plasma table.
I try to convert my picture per attached sample file JPG to SVG file. My SVG file is not smooth and not high quality.
It's difficult to see high quality of SVG file as same as commercial url removed. I don't know how to do good SVG same as this web.
    Question,
Is it possible to convert JPG file to be SVG file with high quality?
Remark:I use xara Xtreme5 and inkscape software.(convert raster to vector)

    Welcome to Talkgraphics Forums Ton,

You say you have Xtreme 5 and Inkscape?

Well you are in luck because have the tools to 'trace' your attached file to Vector in both these programes

In Xtreme, look under Utilities>>Bitmap Tracer

    In Inkscape Path>>Trace Bitmap

Have a shot at it yourself and let us know if you have any problems.

    Sledger,
    Big Thanks for your reply.
I know Xtreme support Bitmap Tracer
I know Inkscape support Trace Bitmap
But I found some problems with Xtreme and inkscape.
If I open my software with SVG file from Xtreme or inkscape,Polyline is not smooth.
--> It's not beautiful if I cut with CNC plasma table.
By the another way, I try downloading SVG free sample from signtorch website. It's very smooth and high quality after cut with CNC plasma.
I want to do SVG file with high quality same as this web.
Is it possible to make? Could you advise me for other technic?

    Hi Ton.
You could try Vector Magic's online service. Or buy their desktop version (expensive). Attached is the result I achieved with the default settings.
Alternatively hand tracing the M and K doesn't look too difficult.
Edit: Also attached is a .pdf of the letter M as vectorised with Vector Magic, for you to see if the quality is good enough for your requirements.
2nd. Edit. Zipped .svg file of the M added too.
    Saludos,
    Bob.

I agree with Bob, this really is a pretty simple design to redraw with the tools you have in Xtreme.

Sometimes raster to vector tracers just make more work for you and you end up spending more time cleaning up than you would by redrawing in the first place.

Your MK example above can be redrawn by anyone with basic skills using Xtreme, CorelDRAW, Inskape or Illustrator.

My example took less than 10 minutes. For RESTAURANTS I used a regular font which was subtracted from the rectangle.

Give it a try, if you need more help understanding Xtreme's tools - there's plenty of people here ready to assist

As Bob suggests, hand trace it with the Shape Editor tool. This will give you far smoother results.

    Bob,Sledger,Egg and Friends.
I would like to appreciate for your help.
Vector magic is amazing. SVG Polyline is very smooth if I zoom in.
Price(desktop version) is expensive.($295). I am not sure to buy it.
I try to use inkscape and xtreme with handtrace firstly.
I try testing handtrace and convert to be SVG file. I don't have a skill by now.
Is it possible to make hand trace with inkscape or Xtreme and convert to be SVG file?
I want to see it in my software.

    Hope your help

Yes it is, and is what Bob, Egg and myself have shown you.
Once you have hand drawn (traced) the image, you can save to .svg.

But you need to learn to use the 'Shape Editor' tool.

    It's quite straight forward.
Have a look here for some easy lessons:

Is this price per one license.( One PC or more than)?
Can I install on the other PC if I want?
I may install in my office and my home. Pls advise.

Rather than me typing out everything here about that (and is also somewhat off-topic), you can get your answers from the Xtreme 5 help file under Contents>>Legal>>Xara Customer End User License Agreement.

The EULA is also available as a sticky thread in this forum:
