Calculate area of object?

Hi,

I am fairly new to Xara and I am using it to draw maps as a series of shapes.

Is there a way to calculate the area (or number of pixels) in an irregular shape, either using Xara or some other way?

I dont think Xtreme can do this. You can create bitmap out of it and calculate number of pixels of certain colour. ImageMagick can do this http://www.imagemagick.org/Usage/files/#histogram
It may be enough but depends on what precision you need and how flexible calculations you need

It's more a CAD function. Among general purpose verctor editors, as far as I remember, ACD Canvas can calculate precise area of the vector shapes.
