Default Page Background Layer - XX5 Bug?

    1) Drag a colour to the page background - the Page Background layer appears in the Object gallery.
    2) Ensure that Page Background is the currently selected layer.
    3) Draw a Quickshape (you will have to click OK in the dialog box)...
    4) ...and now try to delete it!

You can't since the Page Background layer is unselectable.
Nor can you drag it to another layer in the Object Gallery.
The only ways to get shot of it are to delete the entrie Page Background layer, or Undo to a point before the shape's creation.

Small bug, but annoying none the less!

I may be missing something here (wouldn't be the first time!) but it seems like the problem (such as it is) is that the page background layer is locked by default when it's created. If you unlock the layer you can select/edit/delete the object normally.

This seems somewhat like a feature since you probably don't want to accidentally mess up your background while editing.

When I create the shape, I get the dialog box saying that the shape I've just created is on a layer that's locked or invisible.

    Not really a bug.
Been this way since versions 1.
As Odat say's, unlock the layer and proceed as normal, though note that *objects* on the background layer don't show in a web preview.

    Hi,
As mentioned the background layer is locked and can only be unlocked by selecting 'Properties' in the object docker (after being on the Background layer) then you make it editable.

Ah-ha! That's the vital bit of info that I was missing since it can't be unlocked by clicking the padlock icon.

    Issue resolved

I haven't noticed this - I can unlock background layer with padlock [ xxp5 standard drawing page]

Same as SteveJ (Handrawn), using the padlock in the Object Gallery unlocks the background layer.

    Hi,
Maybe I have the 'bug' as the way I can only do it is through the 'Properties'...selections as mentioned..

Are you running the Pro version or the regular version? It seems to work fine for me in Pro, so maybe it's a bug in the gallery in the non-pro version?

Just straw grasping really, but since the functionality for that gallery is different between the two versions maybe something got overlooked.

    Hi,
I am running the Pro 5 version. If you were asking about my setup.
