Bitmap gallery bug ?

Hello )

Here is my problem: i insert an image on my page and i clone it to remove some of part.
If I fill this part with an another image from Bitmap Gallery, the both originals are filling.
I shall choose "Flat Fill" for my part of image before filling it. I'ts normal or it's a bug ?

Hi Dominique,

Is it perhaps that the cloned item and the original are part of a group? That is the only time I can think of that such behavior would occur. You can in XXP5 select just the single item in a group by finding it in the Object Gallery and then just that one item, even while it remains in the group. If it isn't that, can you perhaps supply us with the .xar file so we can dig a little deeper?

I have a group

This group contains within it an object with a bitmap texture fill

I duplicate this group and select the texture fill object only

I change the texture, because I want the same group side by side with a different texture

But no, both change

Am I doing something wrong here - please tell me I do not have to de-construct the group and replace the filled object

Dominique - you can make a bitmap copy, and that will solve the problem here for you [ you will need to preserve the dpi]

however for me, if its in a group its not that simple

This is a new feature in X5:

Replacing Bitmap Fills

If a shape already contains a bitmap, or is a photo, then you can just drag and drop a new bitmap from any source, such as Windows Explorer, and it will replace the existing bitmap. The new image is 'best fitted' into the shape so that it just fits in. By default, doing this will also replace all other instances of that photo on the current page. But if you hold down Ctrl while dropping the new photo, a dialog will appear which allows you to choose whether just the one instance, all instances on the page, or all instances in the document are replaced.
