Nudge and zoom in Version 5

Hi there,
I haven't long installed verion 5 but I've already found two things (that I use often) that are missing are not functioning.
1. The nudge function doesn't seem to work.
2. The Alt+z for a temporary zoom doesn't seem to work either.

Is there something in the settings I need to adjust?

Zoom tool and Nudge haven't changed from Version 4.

In version 5 the Nudge size entry box is in a new position, but still under the 'General' tab.


Zoom tool still functions with these keys by default.


Have you changed your key shortcuts?

The Alt Z shortcut is for use in the Shape Editor where Z is the shortcut of changing a node to a cusp.

'Z' is the cusp tool enabler only while the shape editor is selected.
Alt+Z *toggles* (temporarily enables) the zoom tool from any tool you were using and back. Z selects the Zoom tool (unless the shape editor is already in use). Z being the default for Photoshop too.

I have XXP5 and Alt Z brings up the zoom tool and then if you click, it zooms in. But I use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out, left and right and up and down, not shortcuts.

When I select an object, the "nudge" is working perfectly.

Maybe you need to check your Options?

Hi,

I just installed v5, and my nudge is also not working. tried all the settings that i can get my hands on.. still to no avail. any ideas?

in v4, my nudge will not work if i set my default unicode setting for windows XP to "Simplified Chinese" or "Traditional Chinese" but that went away when i moved onto Vista. Have not tried to set my default unicode to english.

any ideas why is that so?

Wierd...
I have a second login on my laptop (when connected to a client's server). In that login, the nudge and Alt+z work as expected. But in my "home" login it doesn't?
I wonder if removing Extreme Pro 4 while in my "home" login had anything to do with the function of the these features (regedit settings or something)?
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Version 5 Pro but the problem still exists.

Ahhhh... just thought about it... I did a "reset all" in the "Customize key shortcuts" and everything is now working correctly.

thanks man, you saved my day!

I have no idea why this can happen, but i supposed i imported the keysetting file from XXP4, that must have F'ed it up.
