Hey creative. How did you achieve the particular texture and shadings? Hey man, stop staring at me...

    Hi Ron,

It is just a blend of 2 identical cicular filled circles. Blend to curve, clone, add shapes fill shape with brushed metal transparency, clone, swap the brush angle.

    Draw 2 googly eyes, & a mouth...

Here is a variation on the theme... a garter snake... not fond of snakes and didn't feel like drawing a head yet.

    Variations on a theme...

Do not like the rock at all. Need to spend several hours looking and studying rock shapes and textures. Can not get it to turn out looking like a rock.

But it is bettern no head I guess...

If all else fails... use a bitmap....

Another variation on the same theme...

Not crazy about the lighting effect ... but the snake over the bitmap looks eerily real. I'm going to have to try that technique

    Ed,

the key in using a bitmap is to place the drawing within the picture. Same Lighting angles, lighting amounts. Make sure to place the forground items in the forground.

In order to properly place the snake, did you cut the bitmap at the plant leaves to bring them to the front?

    Great job...

    Hi Dafipp,

cloned the bitmap, moved the clone to the layer in front, traced the leaves, Used the tracing to intersect shapes, feathered the edges a bit...
