Set the View Quality to "Full Color" before you create the bitmap copy.

    Cheers guys

I was sure I had used whole pixels but completeley missed the view quality bar, will try these later when I have access to XX5. Many thanks, that one was really confusing me.

    Hmmm

Everything works as expected in XX4 and XWD.

Have downloaded XX5 trial and the quality bar to max does not solve the problem, Scotty's bitmap works ok so I suspect a problem somewhere with the conversion to bitmap within XX5 (create bitmap copy).

I have tried whole pixels (size and position), with and without alpha, quality setting and higher dpi. Is there anything else I can try?

Update: export/import as in XWD does not work either

Your file was already whole pixels (16x900). All I did was to change the View Quality to "Full Color" before I created the true color bitmap copy to use as the tiling background image.

Works perfectly in XXP5 every time.

    Nope

Still dont work, bitmaps imported from XX4 into XX5 work fine, very confusing.

That's strange, if I create a shape in XX4, copy into XX5 and then make a bitmap copy then it works fine

.... and if the bitmap copy is made when the shape is sitting over a black object then the lines are black instead of white

Drwyd what do you have your units set to? Xara Xtreme 5 defaults to different units than Xtreme 4.
