New Page Question

I have used xx4 for some time, but i am confused as to the usage of the hew and duplicate buttons on the object gallery. after having named and created 2 new layers on a page i named page 1, I pressed the new button and an identical page of page 1 was created. the new page did not have the same name as page 1 but the number of layers, and their names were also created on this new page. This seems to run contrary to the documentation, and should be a function that should be for the duplicate button. Am I missing smething here?

If I have understood you correctly:

new page adds a new blank page
duplicate page adds a new page that contains all the objects of the original page

layers exist globally - all pages will have the same layers....

Only if the options have been set to do so.


Note too there there is a difference to how repeat layers are handled when using a new web document or A4/US Letter print document.

Not just a Brit joke. In the US, "community service" can mean both "a form of legal punishment" and "an altruistic contribution to the welfare of others". I was thinking of it in the latter context. Although, now that you mention it...
