    Default XaReg 1.0.2.0 updated June 15 2009

Xara has just released the newest version of Xtreme and Xtreme Pro 5.1

Steve (sledger) and I have also updated XaReg to allow users to select their preferred colours in the new Object Gallery.

You will also notice a new interface and menu since the last release available on Xara Xone.

The file menu now offers options to save your settings for the selected version and to load the settings. You can apply your settings for a previous version of Xtreme to a new version; however only those registry keys that are common to both versions will be updated.

The ability to save your custom toolbars has not made it into this new version of XaReg.

A new option to launch the selected version upon exiting XaReg is also new to 1.0.1.8.

The attached images show the new XaReg interface and the new Xtreme Pro 5.1 Object Gallery colour options.

The Deactivation Colour is applied to the text for a hidden or locked object or layer in the Object Gallery.

NOTE: XaReg is a freeware application created by users of Xara Xtreme because of our fondness for the software. Xara Group Ltd is not responsible for the use of XaReg by any of their customers. Download the .zip file attached to this post and unzip to a folder on your hard drive or to a thumbdrive. No installation required.

New update attached to fix a problem with loading saved settings Thanks the Harry (Haytay) for finding the bug.

    Thank you Steve.

You may also be interested in the Freehand Tool options for Rapid Sketching which are located on the bottom of the Blobs page within XaReg.

The default of 500 millisecond delay before line auto join can be adjusted using the center numeric up/down control.

    Great work Bill and Steve.

Thanks Miguel. Steve and I are very fond of Xara Xtreme and are pleased to be able to provide some options for all users of the program.

I could not remember when I first mentioned possibly writing a program like XaReg on the forums. A search found the thread
    http://www.talkgraphics.com/showthread.php?t=33031

Sometimes it seems as if it was many years before that.

The idea had been in my head for at least a year before making that post.

Many long hours of playing with the registry and having to reinstall Xtreme versions after trashing the registry later. Followed by many UI changes for the better thanks the Steve Ledger and tips from some of the Xara staff we have XaReg of today.

I hope everyone can understand that I am a bit proud of this little utility program.

you should be even more proud - because it does seem like it has been an essential part of the toolkit for a whole load longer than that - you could have made a fortune...

Thanks Steve. If I could have foreseen the future perhaps I could have made that fortune. It would make today's economy easier to afford food for the table.
