SEO Thread??

Dont know if one already exists, but thought it might be nice seen as everyone on here is so helpful and seems to enjoy sreading the wisdom, if some of you more experienced people shared some SEO tips with us less experienced people.

Just basic things, I have always found SEO a nightmare and have achieved half decent search engine rankings mostly as a fluke lol, there is loads and loads of literature out there on this subject but quite a lot of it contradicts each other.

I will understand if no-one wants to partake some of you after all have leanrt your skills the hard way, I just thought it might be nice to have a thread on this subject that spells out the basics that should be done to every site, I think it would help an awful lot of users including myself.
