Hiya Casey!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Glad you wondered over here. Xara X1 is a fabulous program as is RealDraw-Pro. I just think RealDraw-Pro is now due for it's update as well.
I happen to like the features in Xara X better... Speed, superior Anti-Alaising, Zooming still allows for use of the side work areas to be useable and Zooming levels are much more expanded, Vector tools are better, more control with Bevels, Transparency and Shadows and there is a Contour tool.
RD-Pro has some features that I would love to see here like a 3D lights and Bump maps which I think adds more elements of realism or sur-realism to objects and the Brush engine is really pretty good (but could use a little TLC), some of the 3D Bevel effects are really cool as well as some of the Lens Effects. I also like the clip art gallery, it's pretty well organized and I like that there is a section to add your own drag-n-drop clip art (like my Common Shapes offering to the community a while back) The Clip Art Gallery in Xara X1 only displays .xar clip art. I imported the Common Shapes into the Clip Art Gallery (all WMF's) and the shapes only show as crossed gray rectangles, so that's a bummer!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/frown.gif Oh yea, the Outline tool RD-Pro is one of my favorites too, especially the Blurred Inner-line function, very useful!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif Yup, good stuff there!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
I think both programs have their merits and their minuses and both have loyal followers. I'm loyal to Xara X first (it was the FIRST vector program that I actually "got" and with the help of Gary and many others I got very good and knowledgable and I think contribute allot to the forums) but I still use RD-Pro here and there too!! The fact that I like many of the people here and over in the MMBForums community is a plus as well. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif Community always keeps me coming back!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif I just wish that Oscar was a tiny bit more interactive and informational with us letting us know the status of his flag ship product (RD-Pro). Of course, untill recently, Xara Group Ltd. was not exactly very interactive either and I'm sure I reflect everbodies view on this when I say this, I hope that Charles and Co. continue to remain interactive with the community. Pretty please!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Nice lamp but the off/On switch perspective looks a bit off to me (no pun intended! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif )
