The initial sketch was in pencil (30 mins) then i went over this and rendered it again with a biro for scanning which took another (40 mins), i probably went a bit over board with the biro actually but the original intention of this "sketch" was fulfilled after the first 30 minutes (ie getting the proportions etc correct...
So anyway more of an exercise than a masterpiece.

Haakoo: you should keep it up looking good.
Angelize: very elegant, also... (stay with me...I need all the help and motivation i can get.)

Most all of my sketching is done pretty quick usually 10 minutes or less.

    A4H:Friends of yours?
I don't draw enough from my imagination lately,
(of course assuming this is where these images came from...You never know in the United States
I wouldn't mind a "mind meld" with the first dood (assuming he was gentle, looks like some serious "lobeage") and perhaps high tea with the last)...

it seems enough for me simply attempting to draw what i can see.
Good to see thiscreative process... i have a folder back in Melbourne which has a few such pieces i should fully render them as .xar files...
(One of them i have already started...finish date? I've been too busy jabbering on this site lately.)
    Cool work.

    Hi Morphonious
Thank you for your comments. I really liked your sketches, I thought they were good. Most all of my drawings are from my imagination. But many times I do use a photo for a model of something. But then again most of the time I just get a pencil and start drawing. A lot of my sketches are quick because then I do fully render them digitally. Here is one I did recently. It called Hawg Wild. I did the line work in Xtreme and then painted it in photoshop.

Here's a few sketches to share...

With only having 6 mins to complete the outline is as much as I can get to give the impression of what she is doing only....

The hardest thing about making sketches/drawings these days for me is not having the undo button...what a handy little tool this is...in this case not handy at all!
I decided to have a practice of drawing a child, as I don't draw them very much...due to different facial structure. So the small statue I had around home would do the trick to get started. As you can see the first effort took about 21 mins and the same girl statue facing front on, took 45 mins to get the general shape and then time after that refining the drawing.

I agree im finding it very hard also...
As everything i have read seems to be telling me that its a mistake to try to get "finished" lines/details down first, i.e putting down hard lines straight up as if one were tracing over invisible underlying art,
(Which is the way I'm used to trying to work and also the biggest mistake most artists make so I'm told as its human nature to try to get some key details down right first from the get go i guess)...
So im really trying to do as the experts recommend and start by getting a hazy feel (gesture type drawing) for the whole thing over all and only then start to build up the detail evenly and only hit the hard lines at the very end...

But i'm finding it very hard to break old habits...

(I was doing an awesome figure drawing class back in Melbourne and I'm really spewing that i don't have access to that up here... and even if i did i seriously doubt any old class would measure up to that guy as his class is totally awesome...(the guy is a real "gun" artist and a great inspirational teacher...)

P.S. I was sick for the last few days and fell behind in some work so i haven't had time yet... but i want to keep up the sketching as I feel it is so important...

Some talented individuals here on TG....
