    Default Sketch Challenge...

The only rules are that it have a sketchy feel and that the time taken to complete the work is written down somewhere....

Also posters could write a brief summary describing their thoughts on their work.
This is meant to be a sketch so redo's are to be avoided if possible and try to keep it honest...
Even if you think its not so good or you could have done allot better...
Still post it.....its part of the fun...

    So lets get sketching people.
    ill start the ball rolling....
    - - - - - - - - - -
    This took me 45 minutes...

I started off really slow and felt i was a bit lost at the start trying to feel out the figure and it was slow going...i'm a bit rusty.

It started working a bit after about 15 minutes to a point and then i felt i had lost my way and my hand started to smudge the thing all over the page..
But i'm posting it anyway.....i know i can do allot better so let the fun begin....

    Cool Re: Sketch Challenge...

No pencils in the house so I used the pen in my pocket to sketch my mate sleeping on the (more comfortable chair) next to me.
Time take: roughly 5 minutes (not that it should matter)

I had to try one more last night as i was a bit disappointed with the last one:
again a figure drawing...anything to motivate myself...
this one has come up a little better spent well over an hour on it...
to be honest this one was also a bungle fest....I had to erase her butt and arm and face and re-do these areas anyway...
I want to keep this up and it would be fun to see you all up here. (not naked your art i mean)
P.S the face it the hardest part.. for my next one i might try only a face....
But ironically the face almost being an after thought has the best feel out of any part of this sketch....
im a bit scared to hit the hard lines in the face as the result is often like someone who has copped a severe beating LOL

P.P.s sledger you cat is a fine sketch especially since it was so quick.... thats the type of feel im looking for with mine... but obviously i need to hone the time taken down... if it was off a real model she would have cobwebs on her...(perhaps ill force myself to go faster.)

Thanks for posting these, Steve. You certainly have a unique style.
You should get that website up and running. The sales might well be worth the effort, I imagine.
    Saludos,
    Bob.

Originally i sketched this in pencil in about 20 minutes but I was interrupted a few times and the finished result was a whisker shy of believable and as i only have one pencil here a bit flat and i knew it wouldn't scan nicely.
So i spent the next 40 mins going over it with a pen...
eventually i couldn't tolerate it any more.....
I think its got something but its no-where near as good as it potentially could have been...anyway practice makes perfect.

Handrawn: good to see someones design process... often we only get to see the finished product and its interesting to get an insight into how others work as so many of us live in little bubbles of creative isolation....

A pencil sketch I did last night. I think I spent about 45 mins on it ( I kind of lost track of time while drawing all those leaves)
