Default Jpegs converted to Png on export

I am placing JPG images in Web Designer, but when I click on "Export Website", the JPEGs are converted to PNG files in sizes from 200-500K, which are too big.

    What am I doing wrong?

This happens because you 'attached' a shadow to the pictures, thus rendering the photos partly transparent (thus requiring the .png format). You can do one of two things:
    1. You select in the menu Utilities/Web Properties/Image/JPEG (Best for photos). The transparent part of the shadow now will be filled with whatever is behind it.
    2. You place a rectangle the size of the photo behind the picture and give that a shadow. This will be exported as a (small-size) .png and the photograph as a .jpeg.

Thanks guys! I am going to proceed with solution #2 and create background shapes to apply shadow to. It works!
