I found a dragonfly floating in the pond. I thought I would get some close shots to make wing drawings. Rich

I have drawn several sets of dragonfly wings, however, I have never been able to see the bodies well enough to draw them. I'll try to take photos in several directions and try to make a body drawing. The wing image was about 250KB, and has more resolution. I should be able to make a good drawing from that image.

My preference is to make the wing drawings with the matrix widths, and not just line drawings.

Cropped, they are both about 300 KB. I first started drawing wings with about 60 KB images. I got good at guessing. Most of those images were background with very little wing. Sometimes the wings had overlap, and I had to do creative guessing. The front view drawing was that way. In that case, I drew four wings instead of two. Rich

I have been trying different things. I have been having a camera problem. Must be some corrosion on the battery holder. I managed to take a few photos, regardless. Rich

I decided to try a scan of the dragonfly. This is a crop of a 1200 DPI scan. Rich

I saved the scan to TIF and JPG. The file size was 42.6 MB. As a TIF, it was 23 MB, and as a JPG, just a little over 1 MB. I was surprised a 43 MB file got to be 1 MB. I opened the file in X1. It took a little longer. Deffinitely great to have that much image quality to draw from. Rich
