    Question Menu Maker & Vista

I have a site that I used Menu Maker and need to update. However I have since checnged computers and now have VISTA. I have installed again but get a message that I must have administrative rights. I am the admin. I looked on MM site and it seems that I have to now buy a new install disk for $15 dollars.

    Is that right???

It is not so much that I have to repurchase the program but I would have to wait for the damn disk to get here.

Any work arounds??? Obviously time is of the essense....

    Hi David,

I have been using Vista since it's beta releases.

    MenuMaker work fine.

Vista's security is different from previous versions of Windows.

Even though you are logged in using an Administrator account you do not automatically run programs with administrator access.

Use Windows Exporer and go to the location of the MenuMaker installer. Right click the file and select Run as administrator from the popup menu.

After the installation is finished. The first time you run the program use the right click and Run as administrator so the program can update the registry.

You do not need to Run as administrator after that first time.

Thanks. I'll give that a try. XARA site says that if I purchased and downloaded that I'll have to now purchase the instaall disk in order to run with Vista. The $15 is absured but it's the time waitin for shipment that is the killer.

    Thanks

I bought my MenuMaker CD back in 2004, before they offered the e-version.

I guess times change and new methods of delivery...I'm an old fossel and prefer the old ways.
