    Default Monoslideshow equivilent

    Hi All,

I have been trying to emulate the monoslideshow area shown on the main page of the Xara site. I have used XWD and found the result to be a bit jumpy. I dont want to reinvent the wheel so do we know if Xara is going to author some similar software in, as they do, a better way, or are we to use Xara's website as a reference to use the 3rd party software which isnt very expensive anyway.

    Kind Regards...Steve

I really thought about deleting this post from you but I thought it through and it just met the criteria. This area of the site is a wish list for forth comming releaes of our programme which we use. Please use this area for a more convincing statement of what you want the software to do.

I don't really understand what the query/wish is about.
I agree with Peter, please try to be clearer and follow the Dear Xara rules for posting in this forum.

    Hi Guys,

Thanks for smacking me but you havent told me what I did wrong.. Is it the way I asked the question or am I in the wrong Forum ?. Anyway, I read the rules again and now submit again... Does any of the Xara software produce an equivelent to the monoslideshow portion of the main page of the Xara website, if not I think it would be a good addition and suggest it as a future addition.

Thank you for your patience.. I am trying..

    Kind Regards... Steve

Steve this forum is for feature requests, suggestions or bug reports relative to Xara Xtreme rather than general questions which should be posted in the Xtreme forum.
However this query is more suited to the Xtreme Flash forum.

The Flash Monoslideshow by Monokai has very likely been used on Xara's home site because they don't produce anything like it themselves.

It's reasonably priced and available here.

The cheaper option is PICASA 3 (create movie from selected photos) then FORMAT FACTORY (convert to SWF)

    Both applications are freeware.

EXAMPLE CREATED WITH PICASA3 and FORMAT FACTORY

Just a cautionary note - the Monoslideshow licence only allows use on a single site.

This is true, though the cost is not restrictive on a per client basis..
    Also worth noting that:

    6. Monoslideshow may be used multiple times on one web site.

This would give good value to a multi-page site which requires product or photography slide-shows. Potentially unlimited use really.

    Thank you Sledger & Christine,

I really did'nt know where to post and honestly thought the Ask Xara section was the most obvious. I have only enjoyed XWD & Webstyle 4 so far.

Christine, your heads up was good value I thought the fee was a once off.

Sledger, as usual a world of advice... thank you both again.

    Kind Regards...Steve

This was made in XX4. I don't know how XWD flash works. I tried to emulate the 'Moonslideshow' white flash and motion. Althjough 'Moonslideshow' also uses zoom which I haven't replicated.

The zoom seems to also work well. I can only conclude that Xara were in a hurry and choose to do the job quickly with Moonslideshow as it would most likely take longer to do it in XX4.
