Background Problem with the german Version of Xara Webdesigner

Open the folder where you had installed Web Designer. You'll see the "Templates" folder. Open it and the language folder you have. It Hhs to contain all the default templates all with .xar extension. Replace them with attached files. Also you can make a back up of these files.

Since saturday i have this version of the program, too.

Yesterday i've tried to create my own design. First i thought i'm just to stupid to set the background, because nothing worked. I've tried it with severals colors and graphics.

Within the editor, all was ok. But in the preview the background just was white. The same after the export.

I hope that this problem will be fixed very soon, 'cause a website without a background is terrible.

I fully understand your point.
I had same issues, but fortunately found this note in the forum.
So thanks to the people here.
I think, Covoxer explained how to overcome this issue.
At least I followed this way and it works perfectly.
Can`t be better when the bug is repaired sometimes in future.

For sure does not mean its not necessary to fix the bug, but means, it easy to make it work, if one knows it.
And at least we are the lucky people, found the link here with the great proposal for a solution.

I've uploaded the files again, because the german version needs other filenames.

So it's a little bit easier for the users to replace them with the original one.

I cannot get the background color to change on my website and I have the downloaded- English version of Xara 5.

Everything runs perfect except the background color remains white.

My site is complete so, do I need to open one of the templates and remake my site in place of the templates for it to change the background?
