    Default Rosella

A rosella which frequents the area where I live. Wild!

Nice shot Rupert! The squirrels and other rodents would have emptied your feeder in this neck o the woods.

    Lovely shot Rupert.
I'm too slow for the birds we get here - lot's of really colourful parrots and kingfishers. The most striking being the Rainbow Lorikeets.

If only I had a better lens

Thanks guys. There is such an amazing array of wildlife in the world.
Steve, you are right. You must have a good lens for wildlife. Although for this shot the parrot was quite close and regularly fed, so I just used a normal kit zoom lens. Yet, he was still flighty.
My aim is to get a good photo of a wedge-tail eagle this year. This will be a challenge. They are so smart. I was travelling in late afternoon, last summer and I thought I would give one a bit of a go perched on a fence post. So I walked towards him and he took off which was OK by me because I wanted a shot in flight. But he flew below the horizon line in the shadows!!! That was the end of that!!!
