Free with September issue of PC Format, published by Future Publishing, Bath, UK. They had back copies when I called them a couple of weeks ago. Dont know whether they'll ship to the US but in the UK it costs about £5. PC version only (it being PC Format)

Is this a fully functional copy or is it saved and print un-enabled?

Here on the Peninsula in Victoria Australia, I could not believe my eyes when I saw the above program included as a FREE & TOTALLY USEABLE VERSION OF PAINTER with as many of the powerful parts that most of us will ever use as a give-away in a magazine. NO- it is complete in all respects, just like a brand new software unit. IT WOULD HAVE TO BE THE BARGAIN OF 2000.

Hi,

Not only is it great to get Painter 5.5 almost free, but Corel Customer Support told me a few days ago that they're now allowing an upgrade price from the PCFormat version of Painter 5.5 to Painter 6... said this is a "recent change". Nice change!

Check to be sure, though. It's almost too good to be true, though the Customer Support guy assured me it was.

Happy Painting!

Great News Jinny,
Thanks for the info about Corel allowing the mag. 5.5 owners to upgrade. I have been keeping an eye out for this info.

Perth,

I posted a message here a week or so ago just after talking with someone named Dan at Corel Customer Support. You might want to hunt it down and read it. In that message, there's contact information for Dan and he told me if anyone has a problem getting the upgrade, to let him know. He was very sure it's for real.

Not sure if this will work, but here's (my attempt) the link to the message thread here in the Painter Forum where I posted the above-mentioned messsage:

Tom Holt's Thread on PCFormat Painter 5.5

Since then, someone else told one of the groups I subscribe to that she just upgraded to Painter 6 from Painter Classic!

(Dan said that Painter Classic owners are also eligible for the upgrade.)

Let me know how it goes. I certainly hope you can get it.
