Xara Xtreme Pro 4.0.1 crashes on Windows 7 RC

Just as another datapoint, I haven't had any problem running XX on either the Win7 beta or on the RC. (32-bit)

I seem to remember that back in January when I did a vista -> Win7beta upgrade, Xara wasn't happy afterwards until it was reinstalled. My recent RC install has been clean.

I don't use any of the 'compatibility' modes - either setting appcompt checkboxes on shortcuts or the new 'virtual XP' mode in Win7RC. (The two completely different things seem to be being talked about interchangeably in this thread, which might end up being rather confusing)

I run with UAC enabled, and I don't run Xara as administrator other than once to let it set the file associations.

I've uninstalled and then created a brand new user account. I've tried to install Xtreme in that account and get the crash in the same place.

Xara support have provided me with a fix (some new dll's) and it now works just fine!

Which .dlls and what did they decide your problem was?

It looks like a completely new build of the whole app 4.0.1.6977 dated 12 Dec 2008.

The point of forums is to share knowledge, you appear to have some knowledge which other members may benefit from regarding an Xtreme 4 issue you had with Windows 7 RC and which Xara helped you fix.
Obviously the provision of 'some dlls' indicates that Xara knew which files were causing the problem for you and so gave you some working replacements.
It would be good if you could let the forum know what the problem actually turned out to be (according to Xara) and which dlls needed to be replaced.

The Xtreme.exe executable 4.0.1.6977 (12th Dec 2008) is a much later build than many of us are using.
I also see that the files appears to be taken from the MAGIX CD version.

Same issue, but after upgrading from Vista SP2 RC to Vista SP2 release
XXP4 worked fine with Vista SP2 RC.
Config is
OS Vista SP2 release english + french language pack (RC was english + french language pack)
Both version are 64bits
Uninstall and reinstall does not solve the issue
Neither running XXP4 as administrator nor XP SP2 compatibility mode solve the issue.
Version is 4.0.0.4966
