Inkscape SVG to Illustrator?

Hello

My Illy is broken atm. Can anybody with Illustrator CS1,2 or 3 tell me if they can open this SVG file and, if so, tell me if they can see both the colour gradient fills and the transparency? This is what it looks like in Inkscape (exported for this post as a png with transparency)

If you don't add the SVG, then nobody will ever be able to open it .... !

This is what I get! There was a few error messages when opening, firstly the font and then an unknown object.

Many thanks for your test Albacore.
Seems Illy can translate from SVG everything except graduated transparency.
I've exported the same file as an EPs. I wonder, could you try that one in Illy too?

(I instructed Inkscape to convert the text to path)

Hi David,

Using Illustrator CS3 I got similar results with the svg and the eps files. The eps came into Illy with smaller dimensions than the svg. I think Illy uses a different technique for linear transparency.
