Default Dimension tools as a sub-layer

It would really be nice to be able to drag a line, or select a segment of a line, and hit a button and have a a couple tick marks and arrows appear that show the measurement of that line or segment. It's a pain to create this manually and the possibility for error exits. If you create a line that will indicate distance and add arrows, the arrows will go past the ends of the line, forcing you to again, manually adjust it. If you have added arrows to a line and adjusted it so it appears correct and then cut a gap into the line so you can type the length in that space, now arrows appear on the ends you just cut and you have to again manually remove them.

It would be nice that if you could select a length and add a dimension line that would dynamically update as the length changes shape. It would also be awesome if these dimensions were on a layer that would 'belong' like a child to the layer the object resided on so you could turn dimensions on or off as you worked.

This has been brought up before.

Answer appears to be that Xtreme is not a CAD program and that the dimensions are available on the info bar anyway.
