Changing Text Colour

This seems such a common task i have a feeling I'm doing something silly to cause it.

I have a text box and want to change the colour of a few words to emphasise them. This I do by highlighting the words and selecting a different fill colour from the colour line at the bottom of the screen. Everything looks fine but when I upload and view the page in IE7 the text colour has changed correctly but so too has the background of the text to black.

I've tried creating a new text box and copy and pasting the text afresh but no joy.

Am I doing something stupid?

Set your text line color to no color.

I'm still a bit baffled as to why changing the text fill colour would change the text background but what the heck
