    All photoimpact...
This started out as a circle object, flat. I wanted to give the 3D effect, so I continued adding layers of circles to the top, then added some other shape objects. I used the rotate in 3D tool to create the illusion on both. But the side one didn't look right, I had to use horizontal and vertical deform to bend it properly.
The reflection on the ball is a copy of the background with a crystal ball added. I played with the layers until I was happy with it. The second one I added another layer and adjusted the merge method.
Of course the background was done with merging in difference mode, then blurring the unwanted portions away..
And I added the fill of an old Aldus Photostyler Disk that I had. Photostyler was the forerunner of PI.

    Thanks, Mike.
I've used it for years. It can do about 80 to 90 percent of what PS can do at about a sixth of the price. Plus it's object based, which works for me. I never cared for layers, except in rare cases.
