    We respond to all emails sent to us. Unfortunately the normal response is an automatic reply saying that due to the huge amounts of spam we receive we are not able to read or answer personally on that email address, and we provide another, or point you at the online FAQ which will almost certainly answer any question you have. The Xara X one is here;
    http://www.xara.com/support/xarax/

    It also provides a form based submission system if you require answers to questions not answered in the online FAQ. That normally gets a rapid (24 / 48 hours) response.

    Spam has brought the whole Internet email system to the point that it's no longer a practical means by which customers can contact us and hope to get a reply. There is nothing we can do about this.

    Or failing that you could ask a specific question in this forum, where there are a great many Xara X users who are very willing to help where they can (and large numbers have been through the upgrade process with no problem).

    Spyro,

    Some people have said they had problems clicking the link in the Trial - maybe you can go directly to http://www.xara.com/products/xarax/buy.asp and do it?

    If the Javascript links don't work for you, I'm beling linked to http://app.xaraonline.....XaraX1CD for the CD version, and to http://app.xaraonline......XaraX1Boxed for the boxed version.

    I'm pretty sure that's what I did - for I registered and bought Xara X¹ online at the same time as the trial was downloading. Having logged into the CD/boxed version's page (whichever you choose), it already knew that I had Xara X, even though I bought CorelXara online and upgraded to Xara X offline at the Computer Arts show in London back in 2001. I'd imagine that the system has a record of your Xara X purchase too, so it should offer you the upgrade price?

    The problem is that I have purchased Xara X in a local store (in Italy) and I now must contact XARA LTD to upgrade my version, because in Italy don't exist an upgrade procedure!

    But I wish upgrade my version before 12th june...but if Xara LTD don't respond me, what I can do?? It is explicit that if I cannot upgrade my version to X1, I won't do it after with price increased.

    Have you a valid mail to contact XARA LTD??

    If you went to the FAQ is listed above you would have found the answer to your question, which details what to do if you bought your product through a reseller. You can find the details here:
    http://www.xara.com/products/xarax/upgrade.asp

    This page says;
    "If you own Xara X, purchased through a reseller, you should create a Xara Online account (if you don't already have one), and then contact us using the Sales option on our Contact Form telling us: which product you own, who you bought it from, when you bought it and what the serial number is. Then wait for further instructions."

    The links to more details are shown on the page referred to above.

    I think that answers your question.

    Last email I sent to Xara (via a form on the Web site), weeks ago, received no response what-so-ever. It's a trait of British firms, I'm sorry to say. There's no excuse - I run a business myself, and answer all emails. And I do get a fair bit of spam.

    ...I have followed instructions of Xara, I have created a Xara Online account and entered serial, name and other...but I have not received answer...

    This is very disappointing...

    UK office-based companies like Xara don't open on Saturdays or Sundays, and yesterday (Monday) was a national holiday so no-one was at work then either! I'm sure your message will be one of the ones worked through as people return to the office in an hour's time, for the first time since Friday.
