Yes, now I understand the way the different colours work for mouse over etc. And Sledger does understand what I want. I will be looking at his example soon.
RaZZlE thanks for the video, I don't think what you showed would work for what I want. In fact I spent some time trying to figure out why when I changed the text on the menu bar it came out black instead of white.

OK, I see how to change the colour, but it looks as though I need to also write the html to get the font correct and to add the actual link. Am I correct? I can write html but I find the whole language arcane and hate doing it.
