Question Newby - looking for "extras" and few q's

    Greetings all!
Just played with the trial ..... and bought it! :-)
Now all I have to do is learn to use it
    HOWEVER:
    1. I can't seem to download any extra templates inside prog.?
1.a. Some members here offer their work as downloads I see, how do I incorporate them into my prog?

    2. Seem to be missing full (book) text justification?

    3. Offered 3 small default page sizes to start - none of which seem right to me. Is this for design mix convenience? If so, how do we resize all to full website display size?

    T.I.A.
I will keep looking and reading too!

    Help>>Download Templates

If this fails, check your Firewall and/or other security software settings.

Full justification is not possible within Web Designer at this time.
This has been brought up many many times. Please try a search.

Page templates are suggested sizes only, you can drag the right or bottom edge of a page to resize it, or go to Utilities>>Options>>Page size

Thumbs up Re: Newby - looking for "extras" and few q's

Thank you to all (fast!) repliers!
    nickydude:
    Thank YOU!
    Sledger:
Templates - BTDT -can't see why Xara should be blocked at firewall level, will fiddle a bit more.
Justification - Urk! That's a big bug for us Writer purists

    HELP SERVICES:
    1. A special NEWBY or "START HERE" forum is always a good idea.
    2. A very "Beginner's Guide" is always a great idea. There are always masochists like nickydude around who will support the bewildered.
    3. We need to remember our beginnings when the problem was that we didn't know what question to ask - the bane of all FAQ's.

    Thanks again people!
BTW: I'm in OZ GMT +10, not just slow to respond!

    Hi Himagain,

The Web Designer forum is a beginners forum.

Although the program is Web Designer 5.0 it is actually the first ever release.

Everyone is learning to use the program since it was released in early March 2009.

There is a 'sticky' post by Charles Moir (founder of Xara) with links that will be helpful to any beginner. http://www.talkgraphics.com/showthread.php?t=36827

HA! Don't think you understand, Soquili - when I say beginners I mean like me! Not a technophobe, but a sumo wrestler trying to do ballet.........
The other 95% of the world.

E.G. my big project is simply to get X to import and distribute RTF files over multiple pages in boxes.
Been on it a full day on and off.......

But I can dictate a 500 word article or short story directly into DragonDictate complete with punctuation as fast as I can speak. (About 200 times faster than most people can).
But still have problems with my Topfield(Tivo thing) remembering what does what.

Trust me - X needs a real newby forum....... (been there lotsa times in this biz)

    Cheers!
