Default Trouble putting Flash into site

    Can anyone help please,

This is my first use of XWD and I have tried to put in a bit of Flash content (the page is only just a practice exercise).

However, I have tried using a placeholder and replacing with the Flash content as described in help.

The Flash does not appear, so I set up the site in Dreamweaver and downloaded the site as produced by XWD and the Flash content is present and plays in DW, however, it does not show in the browser (including DW preview).

    the test site is www.wlc.cascadingstyles.co.uk

    Kind regards

    Martin

According to the source, the flash file is: http://www.wlc.cascadingstyles.co.uk.../Untitled1.swf
But it appears just as white.

Can you check your local flash file?

    Thanks sledger,

The Flash file works fine, I even downloaded the website into DW and the Flash contnet shows up in the DW editor but not in the Preview.

I have attached the Flash file.

    Thanks for reply

    Martin

Update: I have renamed the Flash file wlc001.swf and reloaded it on the webpage. It still doesn't appear.

    Hi Sledger,

I am confused as when I open the .swf file using the browser it does appear white. But when I download the file and use the Flash reader is performs properly.

    Untitled.swf

    wlc001.swf

Your flash files show nothing but white in all browsers but IE8 here
(I only checked IE8 after all other browsers showed white)

Egg might be able to help figure why, I'm no flash expert..

How are you making the flash content?

I am using Opus Pro ver6 to create the flash content.

Has worked fine in my previous DW sites.

As an experiment I exported the XWD Animated Cubes flash content and put it into the site (in the top banner) and it works fine. Possibly there is a problem with how I created the Flash content.

I will try something very simple to replace the current content.

Edit: I ought to add that even with IE8 I still get white!!!!

It seems it might be a problem with the Opus programme, but that is strange as I have produced quite complex Flash files for other websites.

For example here is our dance website www.dancewestland.co.uk with Opus produced Flash right in the middle (I update this most weeks - a bit overdue).

I think I need to address my question to the Opus team, sorry to bother you guys, many thanks for your help.

Following Hans advice I right clicked and selected Play on the two white areas in Steve's post and the swf files did play.
