    Default Adobe Acrobat File

Can anyone help me load Adobe Acrobat Files onto a page being shown as an icon? I run a home owners assoc website and I want to make a page with 8 icons of legal documents. I would like to load the icons only, so if u need the document and u would like to print it, u just click on the icon

is this possible and can it be done by a beginner web site mgr?

    thanks,

    Joe

    Hi Joe,

It is easy to make the icon and link it to a pdf file.

Export your web design website. Place your pdf file in the index_htm_files folder. Create an icon and assign it an link to the index_htm_files/xxx.pdf

use your files name in place of the xxx

I attach a alternative graphic I use on one of my sites to indicate a pdf document. Like the other it is designed for use on a white background. Mine will work on a light background like the grey of this forum. It could also be edited by intersecting with a rectangle to effectively crop it down to a square shape without any drop shadow. You could then use it on any background and add a new drop shadow if you want.

I also note that it might be a good idea to include something like the following (from my site) on any page with a pdf download:

The documents are in Adobe's PDF format. If you find yourself unable to open them, likely you need Adobe's Acrobat Reader. It is available as a free download from Adobe.
I also include the following as many of my site's visitors aren't all that computer savy:
Documents will open in a new browser window. From there you can save a copy of the document to your hard drive, or print it out.
    Regards, Ross

    Grey??

Ross - please calibrate your monitor, the forum post background is a delicate 'Frost Blue' (#F5F5FF)

'Frost Blue' looks bluish grey to my tired old eyes - yet to be jump-started with my morning coffee.
