Hi All,
How do I stop visitors taking graphics off my Web Designer Sites
Regards
Steve.
Hi Steve,
welcome to TalkGraphics.
One of Xara's Online Modules is called File Protect. This is what it says on the website:
"Include password protected files on your website. Control your own list of username / passwords. Visitors to your website can click the download link on any file, but only those entering the correct username and password will be able to access the file.
This requires no server software to be installed and does not require any server configuration.
Unlike other free or low cost web password protection utilities that just hide web pages or files, the Xara File Protect data is served from our secure database servers and is real file protection."
You can find out more on http://www.xaraonline.com/home/appli...otect_home.htm

Hi Albert,
Thank you for your kind welcome and reply.. This is the first time I have attended a forum but certainly not my last.
I was hoping more for some way to stop the reader right clicking and saving picture as...
In HTML we can apply some text in the header but it appears we cannot do the same in web designer.. I'm sorry for not explaining my request properly.
Kind regards...Steve
Steve,
you're welcome.
Please note that Web Designer's latest version (5.0.1) does support <Head> elements. See the announcement here http://www.talkgraphics.com/showthread.php?t=37004, which also contains an instruction how to use these elements in Web Designer. I'm not sure if it answers your original request, though.

A version of a no-right-click script can be found here: http://www.codelifter.com/main/javas...ghtclick1.html
You can find instructions on creating the appropriate <head> & <body> placeholders in Xara-WD in the following thread: http://www.talkgraphics.com/showthre...ad+placeholder

Hi Guys,
Thank you for your replies. I have used the (BODY) placeholder for up to ie5 and the (HEAD) placeholder to allow for ie6.. Works great.. Exactly what I was looking for..
Thanks again.. Steve
But why? Seriously. Anyone with even the slightest knowledge of web pages can save images with or without any code you insert. After all, apart form readily available freeware utilities that do this, just looking in your browser's cache will give you them.
Few things annoy me more than having my right-click button disabled on a page just because someone's decided their images are utterly precious. It's the internet, get real.
Hi Greg,
Thank you for your comments, as I'm pretty new to all this I was looking for some way to stop the average joe from easily taking the pictures from my photographics business site.. its not imperative that they cant get them but it makes my Clients feel a little bit more secure.
A little bit of code in this new software is easy, so why not. And as far as turning off your right click abillity goes, the HTML I have used only stops the buttons whilst hovering over a picture not the rest of the page.
Regards... Steve
Take a look at http://www.dynamicdrive.com/, it has tons of dhtml & javascript goodies and I'm sure a right-click-stopper will be among them.
