Links in IE8

I cannot get links to other pages and sites to work when viewing my site in IE 8. I do not have this problem in Safari, Firefox, Chrome or IE 7. Is there something I have to do differently for IE 8?

It's a Local Machine Zone security thing (which gives IE8 more access to the local files on your HDD, so it's protecting you

, upload your site and it should work in IE8 just fine as it will then be in the Internet Zone.

You should be able to change this in Internet Options>>Security>>Local Intranet

I did upload my site, what I had to do was change in my browser is the compatibility view settings in IE 8. It says that there is a problem with my site and the settings changes my browser so that it can be viewed as IE 7. My concern is what is wrong with the site and why is it wrong if no other browser has a problem with it. Does anyone know where you can go to find out what IE 8 thinks is wrong with the site?

Also, how will other people know to change the compatibility view settings on their browser?

Can you give us the URL of your site please?
All Web Designer exported sites I have viewed since the release have worked fine online with IE8.
Did you use some html or scripts in placeholders?

Sure,

This is a mock up. When you hover over the state of Minnesota it turns red and is suppose to jump to another page.

The state is designed to jump to another page on the site and the black square is designed to jump to another web page. I plan to expand it to all fifty states when I am finished.

Thanx for your time. One of my biggest frustrations is I am told that it does not work but not told why.
