Default Having problems with Adjust Selected Colors

I am trying to alter a specific color in my painting.

The Painter X help menu stated that I should look under effects (I did,) then it said to click on tonal control (I did this too,) it then tells you to select ADJUST SPECIFIC COLORS which I did. It brings up a preview pane- I moved the painting around (in the preview pane) until I could see the color that I wanted to adjust. The help menu said that my cursor would turn into an eyedropper- it did this.

The help menu then said to use the dropper to select the color that you want to adjust by clicking on the color in the painting, I tried this but the dropper would not pick up any color. When I fiddled with the bars to change hue, saturation and value, the color of the entire painting changed. Can anyone figure out what I am doing wrong. I am trying to get the white (only)in my painting to have a blueish tint to add drama.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Hi,

Thanks so much for the welcome and the response.

I am trying to adjust the white that I painted, not the canvas color.

    ok

it very much depends what brushes and settings you used to make the painting

ideally I'd like to see the RIF file, but you would need to zip it and there is a maximum size limit on the forum so it may be necessary to post up only a relevent crop of the original [probably best that way anyway]..
