Default Access Violation Error when linking to a .pdf file

I have some text that I want the user to click on to open a .pdf file. When I set up the link, I get the following error:

    Access violation exception at 0x22BFF3D3.

Then, the whole program closes and goes away.

If I change the link to be another file, any file, I do not get the message.

Is the problem with my pdf file, or the fact that I am trying to link TO a pdf file which would invoke adobe acrobat on my machine?

    Any ideas?

This sounds like a browser or Adobe error at best.

My advice would be to remove Adobe Reader, reboot the PC and then either download the latest version of Adobe Reader or try an alternative such as Foxit Reader.
