Practical number of pages?

A question to the experts.
I am curious as to how many pages can WD handle with a 50k image on each.
I am building a large site and I noticed a significant slow down in loading after about 50 pages or the program freezes before loading the index. System ?Intel 2Quad CPU, 2,4 Ghz 2Gig of ram. Any suggestions or Comments? Thanks

Thats a very large site.
I hope your backing it up with multiple copies and burning copies also
Personally I prefer to break up large sites into smaller pages.

I second that. XWD at present is not a large website application.
