    Bill, my deepest sympathies for your family's loss... you're in our thoughts.

    I've been away from the computer since my post so a response is better late than never. The tute I referred too is here - http://members.shaw.ca/jimht03/bulb/bulb9.html.     I guess it doesn't explain the coil in more detail necessarily than you had, but was simply another take on it. I kept getting a tight double helix, then after adjusting this and that setting I got a flattened phone cord until for some reason I input the right numbers in the right parameter boxes. It's strange because I seemed to have done and repeated all the steps correctly but with bad results. It may have been the modeling tool (mode button) rather than the axis tool.
