Thanks for the enlightening tute Bill! Good job.
I had a few problems with the coil filament but found another C4D bulb tutorial (very similar to yours) that further explained the small circle offset and rotation part so that it would actually coil on the spline.

Kudos to all of the other version translations as well... nice way to kill a Sunday afternoon.
