Thread: Xara animation

    Default Xara animation

I created an animation in Xara Xtreme exported the .xar in WebDesigner as a SWF and have now placed it onto a the placeholder in Web Designer, but it is showing a miniscule graphic.

It appears fine as a gif on a standard HTML page at the size I intended it to be. What do I have to do to make the Flash version a normal size?

The size in the WEB file says w-600pix h-145.8pix.

    Hi Bill,

Make your placeholder object (I use a rectangle) the same size you want the animation to be.

    Hi Soquili,

That is what I did but the animation is just barely visibly!

Bill it looks like something is not working as it should.

Could you zip your .web and .swf files and attach the zip file to a post so we can examine it?

These are small enough, but will demonstrate the problem. If you look close there is animation going on!

I believe you have done the same thing as Nickster.
That is, you have used the default 480x320 animation template to create a much smaller animation.
When you create your flash animation, start with a page size which will be the *same size* as your finished flash animation.

480x320 is the animation template size, but it may only be of use if you fill that page area.
If your animation is to be 180 x 100, then you must resize the page from 480x320 to 180x100 either by dragging the bottom and right edge of the page or via the Page Size tab in the options menu.

Otherwise you will be exporting a 180x100 pix flash animation that sits inside a 480x320 flash frame.

Perhaps it woul be better for Xara to change the animation template to 'user defined' (File>>new>>animation (or the new animation button) causes a popup dialog to define page size)

I don't think that's correct Steve. Try exporting the attached xar to swf. It just exports to the limits of the objects.

Could you attach your xar file Bill?
