Not a bug, a lesson in life.
Always copy your files that you want to save to a new folder before you uninstall any program. Especially if you have your files in the programs directory.
And always remember to lock the barn door before the horse is stolen.

On install, WD creates a default user output/save folder in My Documents\Xara Web Designer.
This is never removed.
I'm assuming you chose to save your files in the Xara Web Designer program files folder?? Not recommended for any application.
Further to Gary's recommendation - I also suggest a file sync/backup program be used.
There are plenty of freeware options such as SyncBack, Allway Sync and Microsofts SyncToy
