    Question Re: tapered curved line

    Hi

the attached file contains an example of what I'm looking for. Took me 15 secs in xara

This is the sort of thing I want to create. In Xara you create a line nad then select the shape-type

    cheers

You're gonna freak out the Photoshop people with what Xara can do quickly.

well you can profile in photoshop too - but its more involved - there again you get to define the profile shape, which has its advantages too

Use a curved shape object then subtract another curved shape from it to leave that kind of shape. If you keep the space bar pressed down on the shape that you are subtracting, you can line up the shapes better than guess work. Every bit as fast as Xara on a job like this if you know the program.

Sorry to all if my response to that question I, came over as a bit cocky but I really love Photoshop (apart from the cost) it is a wonderful program to work quickly with as is Xara. I just get the impression over so many posts that some think it is slow bloat ware that is only being used because you are a bit stupid and do not know about other low cost alternatives.
Last night I had a business card to design and print and for that job I used Xara with what I wanted to do to the fonts Xara was the best choice.
Xara and Photoshop are both great programs I would not like to be without either of them I leant 90% of Xara from this site so many thanks to you all for that.
