Default XHTML Validator. Does a web designer needs code editor?

Xara Web Designer pages pass validation nicely as default XHTML Transitional.
But these pages (such as Introduction template) have mixed single or double quoted values in id and classes. That would make errors in XHTML Strict if You or third party software change page’s DTD to Strict. Also target="_self” will not pass in Strict.
XHTML Strict is more compatible with browsers and codes such as PHP.
Would be nice not only have ability of changing DTD in Web Designer but page language too.
I could be wrong but a built-in code editor would be handy.

Sorry, Web Designer produces XHTML Transitional, not XHTML Strict. You can't change this by replacing one line in html code.

There are numerous reasons why we selected XHTML 1.0 Transitional.
One of the most important issues with the XHTML Strict was a compatibility problems with older browsers (IE6).
