How can I to print a Xara file onto multiple sheets of paper?

Hi

How can I print my Xara Pro file onto 4 sheets of paper?

I have an A4 printer, but I would like to print my (single) Xara image onto 2 or possibly 4 different sheets of A4 paper - so as to make a large 'poster'?

P.S. Fwiw, I have a Canon i865 inkjet/(bubblejet?)printer

PPS. I have discovered a (freebie?) utility called ProPoster that does let you do this, however it means that I have to create a massive high resolution JPEG file each time to acheive this.

Poster printing directly from Xtreme may be possible with certain printer drivers, though I'm unaware of any off the top...
Otherwise it's going to be a case of exporting from Xtreme as a hi res image to allow you to print at a high dpi with your printer using some third party software.
There seems to be a number of freeware programs around, perhaps Posteriza might do the trick?

I've done this very successfully using a program called Ace Poster. I can't remember how much it was but in any event it was dirt cheap. I might give Posteriza a whirl.

Here's another vote for what Sledger posted. I've used Posteriza for several of my daughter's school projects. It works like a charm with files we've created using Xara Xtreme and then exported. It's even FREE!

Okay yes, I've just tried Posteriza, and yes it does seem to work pretty well. It's quite a pain having to keep exporting to a high res JPEG though every time I need to print across multiple pages. Ah well. [sigh]

FWIW, I have never seen any printer drivers that do this function.
SUGGESTION: Might be an idea for Xara to include this functionality at some point, no?

Mine does. It's a HP CP1700 - an A3 printer.

I have an HP1220C that's also A3, but I'd still have to use a 3rd party app to get it to print to A1.

I have an HP Photosmart 8250 that will print multiple tiles per sheet right from the driver via the 'Finishing' tab in the printer properties dialog. I must admit, though, that I never use it as I prefer to use Posteriza instead. Posteriza works with my dated HP LaserJet 4MV printer, as well.

Err... 420 x 594 is A3

Yes, my HP1220c also does tiling (the menu is slightly different to the one your screenshotted) but your 25 tiles still only indicates A3. The max mine will do is A2 (860 x 1213) using 3 X 3 (9 tiles).

So in fact mine will do more than A3! Thanks for forcing me to check that, I didn't know that! I've only had the thing for about 6 years! LOL
