    How do you paste HTML to a graphic without the placeholder being replaced when the site is exported

    If you're using the graphic as a placeholder, I believe that will be it's only function.

    You can put the code in a duplicate image under or over the one you're using and that should work

    Could you rephrase your question?

    I'm not sure I understand what you are asking.

    Assigning a link to an image and assigning a placeholder are two different functions.
