Thanks for all your kind comments. You've given me the confidence to post more of my drawings (I'd previously thought they were too simple).

    This one's called "Cumulonimbus (Thunderhead)"

Please continue to post these!!! I am really enjoying them. Would really like to see you tackle some black and white squares like the OP art of the 60's.

Like this one? It's based on the shadow of a glass chopping-board in our kitchen.

    Simon,

I think you have found the right tool! Xara X gives you so many different avenues to explore... The more you dig in there, the more your will discover!

    Thanks for sharing!

I see my drawings as a kind of light-hearted minimalism; maybe like a cross between a koan and a one-liner, or perhaps a cross between a haiku and a limerick. Sorry if it sounds pretentious, but that's it. Visual puns. But not very funny.

The Feelings, the emotions invoked by a drawing are much more important than the the technical complexity of the drawing. Your work invokes a happy, content emotion. So IMHO it is good.

I'm not 100% happy with this one. The composition's right, but I think I need some help with the colours. Any suggestions?

Thought I'd list my stylistic influences for anyone who might be interested. Here goes (in no particular order):

    Henri Matisse
    M.C. Escher
    Saul Bass
    Emilio Pucci
    Bridget Riley
    Peter Max
    Victor Vasarely
    Julian Opie

    No surprises there, I guess.
