Hello, I am new to this i just had a question??? i am sorry if this is the wrong post but i cant figure out how to post a new topic?
Ok, my problem is that i have a file that is created in Photoshop Elements 7.0 as a jpg.. My understanding is that it is in RGB color... Well in order for the printer to accept this they want it in CMYK... Is it possible to convert it somehow to CMYK in the photoshop that i am curently running and if not where could i do it.
Also i have tried to download streight from adobe a trial version to cs4 and it wouldnt work, it didint have a program to open it with.
thank you and again i apologize for posting so many questions probably in the wrong spot but i need HELP

I do not know if you can convert in Elements. I would look for another printer one that can do the 10seconds job themselves, I know some printers will maintain that the colour shifts are too great but they will still be there by who or what program is used.
A few years ago I designed a brochure but the printer also wanted to do the design work. Said that my file saved at 300dpi was not up to the job and insisted on 360dpi, so I just re-sized in Photoshop and it looked perfect but the extra 60dpi was pure waste.
PS get a Xara demo and save the image(or file) as a four colour PDF
You are right no point to adding extra pixels( but the printer did the brochure without comment, he should have just used the original file) , the point I was trying to make is that some printers do try to add a mystical level of complexity to their work, rather than being on the side of the client and trying to work smoothly with them.
