Default My graduated color background has stripes

Hi, I'm a newbie so please excuse me if this is pretty basic.

I followed the instructions in article 2705 to make a graduated colour background, but I'm getting vertical white lines between the tiled bitmaps. Have checked and the line width is set to "none".

My background bitmap is an aqua colour fading to white. Can anybody tell me what I've missed and how to fix this please. I've attached the .web file - still has the bitmap on the page.

    Many thanks
    Trish

Make sure that the tile rectangle size is a whole number of pixels, and it is pixel aligned before you export it to bitmap.

I have the same problem. Could you explain what you mean by "pixel alligned" and how I can achieve this?

    I appreciate your reply John

I've tried with varying widths, always whole pixels eg 1000x3px, 1000x5px etc

I don't know what "pixel aligned" is and still don't understand after googling, but curves was mentioned. I've tried heaps more times, making sure there were no curved corners and even without doing any transparency or or fill on the rectangle, an still getting lines from the bitmap background.

I don't think my attachment worked last time, would it help if I tried again?

    Thanks
    Trish

Simply, make sure that all numbers in these four boxes are integer (without fractional part):

Thanks, that works. It might be good to include this information in the WD Google document: link

I have been doing graphics for 13 years. I repeat - if I make a very long and thin graphic in XWD, remove the line and import it after exporting and make it the background, [bitmap gallery - background] I get telltale lines in the background. No "non-decimal" measurements make a difference.

    Hi Richinri,

I created a 2 pixel x 739 pixel rectangle and filled with a gradient. Export to png truecolor then imported the png and set it as the background.

    No telltale lines.

Thanks for the example. Now try making the background graphic WIDE instead of tall.
