    Default XWD Movies?

Are the Xara Web Designer movies only going to be available online? Or are they eventually going to be available as downloads like the Xara Xtreme videos that can be run from XX? I know the XWD movies can be downloaded individually, but it's not the same...

    Cheers

Online only. We've moved to supplying all future movies as online only using the new Flash MP4 codecs. Gives higher quality, no issues about installing WMV and TSCC codecs (which gave us a real support headache), and most people are online most of the time now (especially for a web design product).

So the downside it you can't see the movies offline now. Although I suspect there are offline Flash players that will allow you to download Flash movies and play offline locally.

Charles, what app do you use/recommend for editing your videos?

If you're talking about the videos here, you can simply right click the link and Save Link As, to save on your pc.

The Video LAN VLC media player works well for me:

I don't recommend anything for editing MY videos, but if you mean what do I recommend for creating or editing videos in general, all I can say is that we used Camtasia 6 on those videos, and Audacity as audio editor.

Good answer about right click download of the MP4 and using VLC player. Seems to work very well. So that solves playing the movies offline.

Thanks, Charles. I see your point and have nothing against online movies. I was just curious as Xara previously made vids available for download.

BTW-I did download 3 of the videos, but the sound had a pronounced 'echo' or stutter. And yes, I do have the flash MP4 codecs. Strange.

    Anyway, thanks for clarifying.

    Cheers
