Navbars from Xara Xtreme

I have found using a theme imported from Xara Xtreme that when changing the text on a navbar, only the one top layer is changed not all of the layers. This does not occur in a XWD template, where all the layers change.

Is there an easy way of getting round this or is it necessary to change all layers individually.

You have to make all buttons a soft groups. Select button and all it's states and apply a soft group to it. Do this with all buttons. Then the text will be cdited as you want.

Tried that and it didn't work. obviously I didn't select all its states. How do I do that?

Mke all layers visile and editable. Then select.

Tried that as well. I made all layers visible editable, Wwhen I did that the mouseovwer layer becamse visible. I applied the soft group. I tried to copy and paste, or move the group, but only the mouseover layer moved or was edited.

Obviously I am doing something wrong here.

Willie when you have all layers visible and editable do a marque select so all button states for one button are selected at once. Check the Status line and it should report the number of objects on the number of layers are selected. Now you can apply a Soft Group.

Sorry, don't understand. What do you mean by marque select? If you mean Alt click and so on I tried that but the status bar said nothing below or I had reached bottom.

Willie with the Select Tool click outside any of the button shapes and drag diagonally so that the entire button is within the rubber band (stretchy rectangle used to show the bounds of your selection).

Even then the only way I could get that to work was to select the eye and the arrow on right hand of the layer gallery window.
