    Default Password access

    How can I limit access to a web page via a password?
    It appears that code has to be inserted into the page how can I do that in Web Designer?
    Not that I know the code yet:-((

    Your host can setup a .htaccess file in the root folder of your site.
    If you have cpanel access to your hosted space, you can do this yourself.

    Do you have cpanel access Peter?
    If so I will go further and explain how to create a password protected folder.

    cpanel = Control Panel
    This is general supplied with all Apache based hosting accounts.
    The usual way to access it is via your domain name like this:

    www.yourdomian.com/cpanel

    You need you hosting account user name and password to login in.
    Form there you can control almost everything for your hosted account space.

    I should have added that I am just using my ISP allocated space not a host and domain name.

    One day may get a domain name.

    As it is a family tree, hence privacy issues, and have been using Web Designer which I found much easier to use than NOF 11.

    Contact Internode, they are pretty good - they should be able to setup a .htaccess pw in the folder you nominate.

    If you can get the .htaccess set up here's a online tool for getting the actual password part working: http://tools.dynamicdrive.com/password/
