Files not replacing existing files

I changed a gallery and uploaded the new files successfully.

Except the new content did not appear.

Here's what happened.

The existing index file was index.html

Web Designer created an index.htm file.

Apparently if there are two index files, the browser selects the html extension first. I deleted the index.html and then everything works fine.

Hi Gary, this is a setting in the Apache web server config at the host end (what to look for first...).

But a good 'heads-up' and something to check when updating current sites ..
